two interesting articles concerning the radically shifing notion of sharing ideas:
righting copywrongs
and
undermining online journalists.
these articles and more are listed at center for the public domain, an interesting resource, even if you don't agree with everything they publish.

"Sales of digital cameras surpassed those of film cameras for the first time last year, and this year the gap widened, as prices continued to drop and manufacturers and retailers heavily promoted digital photography." Yet for some there is a sentimental attachment to film, others view it as inferior in quality and then there is the belief that film is the one place life hasn't invaded with computers. So, regardless of ease of use, convenience, or cutting edge technology they'll stick with film, thank you.

so APAD brings you its first look, at what will ideally become a monthly installment. assignment: BLUE.

"if you are an assignment or freelance photographer, congratulations because you are on the road to extinction. photographers, such as yourselves, have lost a war that they didn't fight. many of you don't even realize that you've lost it. photographers are perceived as afraid to sue, afraid to be blackballed, or worse -- fear not being liked. you're perceived as being afraid to assert yourself - that you are willing to be ripped off repeatedly and continually. now that's how your clients and their lawyers and their ip people look at you. they may not tell you that, but that's what they say when they're in negotiations, in lawsuits and when they are amongst themselves...."
